I’m not sure how I feel about this. My first reaction is…

This is a pretty tough one to swallow and I’m normally very understanding of the need for companies to move to a more sustainable model. I’m not sure if my reaction is based on (a) having just bought the macOS AND iOS versions within the last 2 months or (b) feeling like this app is very different than other subscription apps that I use today.

Paying a subscription for apps like 1Password makes sense. They need constant security updates, browser compatibility updates, and they host user data. Ulysses uses iCloud for data and the most significant updates can be sold as new/improved versions that users can optionally purchase.

Why would I feel good about having just purchased both versions of Ulyssus in the last two months expecting lifetime access… and now my purchase is only worth 18 months of access?
